One of the things that always captures my attention is that in one of the sections of the song, it is as though there is a call and response in the melody but it is just Yiruma playing it. Yiruma closes the set with “The River Flows in You”, which is probably his most well known piece. His piece “Maybe”, sounds the most western of all the pieces, almost as though it could be the bare bones of a pop song. It’s though Yiruma has mathematically calculated how to give people goose bumps. It continues to build, a crescendo that builds up to a key chance that suddenly occurs but in the best possible way.
